Spring Break Camps 2017


Kindergarten - 5th Grade
9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Extended
care is available from 7:50am-9am and 4-6pm

NOTE: The camp grades are based on
grade the child is currently enrolled in.

K-1

Monday, March 13: Space Cadets

Astronaut Academy

Train like an astronaut to live, eat, exercise, and work on the International Space Station.  Learn how life in space is different from life on Earth and more.  

Tuesday, March 14: Pi-rate Day

Tiny Captains

Design and build a pirate ship, create and follow a treasure map and go on a hunt for the treasure.
Wednesday, March 15: Robotics Academy
Bits and Bots

Discover how a robot works and learn the basics of coding with Bit the Bot and Lego Mazes. Use the WeDo LEGO Education software to program your LEGO creations to move or perform a task.

Thursday, March 16: Dream Big: Engineering Our World
Imagineering
After learning what shape is the strongest, design a structure to withstand an earthquake and challenge yourself to build the strongest bridge!  Become an engineer while using the design process and participating in STEM challenges
Friday, March 17: Leprechaun Science
Over the Rainbow
Discover what makes a rainbow and explore light with prisms. Hold a rainbow in your hand, go on a colorful treasure hunt and make a pot of gold slime at the end!
Monday, March 20: Lots of Blocks
Lego Logic!
Become masters of numbers, using math manipulatives. Make math fun by playing games and using LEGOs.

Monday, March 13: Space Cadets

321 Blastoff!

Complete a space lander mission, take a simulated walk on the moon, and explore our planets doing many exciting hands-on activities.

Tuesday, March 14: Pi-rate Day

Treasure Hunters

Learn how to read maps to find hidden treasures. Once the treasure has been found, learn about the importance of trading money for everyday necessities.
Wednesday, March 15: Robotics Academy
Rockin' Robots
Build and program a number of WeDo 2.0 LEGO creations, while also mastering the parts of robots.
Thursday, March 16: Dream Big: Engineering Our World
Build It Bigger!
Participate in challenges while building and designing different structures.  Discover how to think like an Engineer while viewing our IMAX documentary Dream Big: Engineering Our World and then make your own engineering marvels.
Friday, March 17: Leprechaun Science
Science Sham-rocks!
Learn all about the history of Leprechauns and possibly catch your own by creating a state-of-the-art Leprechaun Trap.
Monday, March 20: Lots of Blocks
Minecraft Builders
Begin with building and counting STEM challenges. Learn how to build and survive in the world of Minecraft.

Planet Patrol

Learn about space, the planets, and how astronauts travel in space.  Make constellations, pinhole planetariums and more.

Tuesday, March 14: Pi-rate Day

Pi is for Pirate
Navigate by the stars and a compass just like pirates did! Use your navigation skills to find the hidden treasure!
Wednesday, March 15: Robotics Academy
Challenger Robot League Mini
Learn to build and program robots!  Then take the challenge and build your own to succeed in multiple challenges.
Thursday, March 16: Dream Big: Engineering Our World
Future Builders
Learn about futuristic building techniques and materials to combat natural disasters like earthquakes and hurricanes. Build your own structure to stand up to a natural disaster!
Friday, March 17: Leprechaun Science
Luck O' the Science

Just like Leprechauns love coins, dig into your pot of gold and use coins to make a bridge! Learn about the science of color and rainbows and use a prism glass!

Monday, March 20: Lots of Blocks
Minecraft Mania Mini
Learn about machines, fractals, pixels and complete Minecraft construction challenges in creative and survival mode.
