Summer Camp

Week 1 (May 27th – May 30th) – Motion and the Ocean

Dive into the wonders of the deep blue sea! Learn how waves form, create your own ocean-themed sensory bin, and embark on a virtual aquarium field trip. The adventure wraps up with a breathtaking IMAX journey alongside magnificent blue whales.

Week 2 (June 2nd – June 6th) – Little Engineers

Get ready to think, tinker, and build like a real engineer! From Lego creations and coding games to gear challenges and tinker toys, this camp brings the Engineering Design Process to life. Plus, meet real engineers from the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering.

Week 3 (June 9th – June 13th) – Melody Makers

Let the rhythm move you! Explore the science of sound waves, create music with DASH Robots, and try your hand at instruments in fun exploration stations. Work with friends to compose your own song and meet talented members of the FSU Marching Chiefs.

Week 4 (June 16th – June 20th) – Art Around the World

Embark on a global artistic journey! Study Moroccan mosaics, practice Japanese marbling tecniques, and sketch patterns inspired by cultures around the world. From Kente cloth to Australian dot painting, every project is a passport to creativity.

Week 5 (June 23rd – June 27th) – Adventures in Minecraft

Enter the pixelated world of possibilities! Code with Bee Bots, craft a pollinator garden, and bring classic fairy tales to life with Minecraft magic. Solve underwater mysteries, design your own fairy tale adventures, and explore limitless creativity in a digital sandbox.

Week 6 (July 7th – July 11th) – Frontier Explorers

This week-long adventure takes young explorers on a journey back in time to the days of pioneers. Enjoy activites like buidling a log cabin with local resources, scavenger hunts, and solar oven campfire snacks. This camp is a perfect blend of outdoor adventure, team challenges, and historical exploration.

Week 7 (July 14th – July 18th) – Brick Builders

Bring your LEGO dreams to life! Engineer a sturdy bridge, race custom-built cars, and build special habitats for animals. From ziplines to stop-motion animations, this camp is a whirlwind of creativity and hands-on building fun.

Week 8 (July 21st – July 25th) – Storybook Science

Use the magic of fiction to get you thinking like a scientist! Each day brings a new tale to life with hands-on experiments and activities inspired by a varitery of exciting stories. It’s a magical mix of imagination and discovery.

Week 9 (July 28th – Aug 1st) – Mission To Mars

Blast off for an interplanetary adventure! Learn about NASA’s newest mission to mars, build a Mars Rover in Minecraft, and recreate Martian craters. Cap it off with a thrilling simulation aboard our Space Mission Simulator to help a Rover complete its daring mission.

Week 10 (Aug 4th – Aug 8th) – Camp Rewind!*Additional $10 fee on this camp*

Packed with thrilling challenges, hands-on experiments, and a mix of favorites from every camp, it’s your chance to enjoy a little bit of everything. Wrap up your summer with a week full of nonstop fun and discovery.

Week 1 (May 27th – May 30th) – Science Beneath Our Feet

Dig into the wonders of geology and paleontology! Discover the secrets hidden below the surface as you identify rocks and minerals, hunt for fascinating fossils, and even chat with a real paleontologist. End the week with an explosive lesson by creating your own mini volcano.

Week 2 (June 2nd – June 6th) – Coding Cadets

Blast off into the exciting world of programming! Whether it’s your first time coding or you’re ready to level up your skills, you’ll explore coding with Spheros, Ozobots, Dash robots, and more! Create your own animated story or game and take on coding challenges that will put your logic and creativity to the test.

Week 3 (June 9th – June 13th) – M.D. Academy

By popular request, this new camp is designed for kids who are naturally curious about medical science. Dive into medical science as you learn to use stethoscopes, craft your own doctor ID badge, and play interactive medical-themed games. Discover what it’s like to walk in the shoes of a doctor!

Week 4 (June 16th – June 20th) – Medieval & Magical Worlds *Additional $25 fee on this camp*

Step into a realm of dragons, knights, and wizards! Build moats in Minecraft, design magical creatures, and study the science behind the most mystical planets. Work together to create a medieval village and bring your own enchanting story to life.

Week 5 (June 23rd – June 27th) – Brick Builders

Unleash your creativity one brick at a time! Create amazing and complex structures, tackle LEGO challenges with DUPLO and SPIKE LEGO kits, and dream big as you team up to design your very own city masterpiece. Let your imagination soar.

Week 6 (July 7th – July 11th) – Kids Court

Order in the court—this camp is in session! Play the role of a lawyer, judge, or juror as you solve mock cases and tackle fun debate topics like “Should strawberry milk be served at lunch?” Learn about evidence, strategy, and the art of persuasion in this courtroom adventure.

Week 7 (July 14th – July 18th) – Rockets and Robotics *Additional $30 fee on this camp*

Reach for the stars with a week of rockets and robots! Build and launch your own model rocket, program a robotic rover, and create your very own mission patch. Explore how these cutting-edge technologies help scientists unlock the mysteries of space.

Week 8 (July 21st – July 25th) – Lessons In Minecraft

Hands-on activities meet Minecraft! It’s the best of both worlds! Whether building bridges, or working on the ISS, every activity combines creativity with lessons in science, math, engineering, and sustainability. It’s the perfect mix of education and pixelated fun!

Week 9 (July 28th – Aug 1st) – Trailblazers in STEM

Step into the world of groundbreaking ideas and inventions! From Leonardo da Vinci to Sally Ride – spend the week learning about trailblazers who changed the world. Design futuristic gadgets, invent new flight suits, and even explore the wonders of 3D printing. Are you ready to be the next big inventor?

Strap in and prepare to launch into the science of flight! Design and test your own flying creations, build a model rocket, and learn about aviation pioneers who changed the skies. Plus, take a special field trip to see a real airplane up close.

Week 3 (June 9th – June 13th) – Earth Explorers *Additional $50 fee on this camp*

Unearth the wonders of our planet through hands-on adventures! Meet geologists from Florida’s Geological Survey to learn about rocks, fossils, and Earth’s changing landscape. Study biodiversity and extinction in Minecraft by exploring virtual ecosystems, then take a real-life journey to the Florida Caverns in Marianna, Florida, to see stunning underground formations up close.

Week 4 (June 16th – June 20th) – Digital Game Design

Level up your creativity and explore the science behind video games! Learn the basics of block coding, experiment with coding in Minecraft Education, and build interactive experiences with Nintendo Switch. Plus, design your very own video game character and bring your gaming ideas to life.

Week 5 (June 23rd – June 27th) – Digital Art & Animation

Turn your imagination into animated masterpieces! Learn the basics of digital drawing, design comic strips, create digital characters, and learn pixel art animation- all with fun and easy-to-use tools. Plus, experiment with different animation techniques and bring characters to life through movement and storytelling.

Week 6 (July 7th – July 11th) – Life Hacks: Skills for Success

Practice essential life skills that person needs! Designed to help kids feel empowered in their daily lives, this camp gamifies tasks like managing a fictional bank account, budgeting for a grocery trip, and competing in a laundry folding showdown. From building healthy meals to building critical thinking, kids will gain confidence in everyday life skills through exciting hands-on challenges.

Week 7 (July 14th – July 18th) – Tech Venture

Step into the future of innovation and technology! Spend the week creating a podcast pilot episode, navigating AI challenges, and competing in an epic battle bots showdown. Plus, gaming challenges that putting your skills to the test while exploring the future of technology.

Week 8 (July 21st – July 25th) – Giving Back

Learn how to make a difference while having fun! We’re partnering with local organizations to teach the importance of community engagement. Campers will create care packages for local schools, make DIY dog toys for animal shelters, and participate in many more hands-on projects that help others and inspire kindness! Discover the world of creativity through exciting hobbies! Campers will explore a variety of hobbies like crocheting, painting, scrapbooking, and sculpting. They’ll also explore photography to capture special moments and learn the basics of animation to bring their creations to life. Come discover a new hobby that might just become your next big passion.

Step into the spotlight and create your own short film! Write, direct, act, and edit your short film, and visit FSU’s School of Film for a behind-the-scenes experience. This camp includes a field trip to FSU School of Film for a behind-the-scenes look at their high school equivalent camp, and a chance to attend their Film Festival in the IMAX theater.

Week 4 (June 16th – June 20th) – Coding Lab

Unlock the power of coding with hands-on challenges! Explore a variety of coding programs fort game design, robotics, and puzzle-solving. Learn how coding can lead to exciting careers in gaming, tech, and beyond—while building your own projects and tackling creative coding missions.

Week 5 (June 23rd – June 27th) – Aerospace Engineering *Additional $250 fee on this camp*

Soar into the world of Aerospace Engineering! Design and build model rockets, test aircraft propulsion, and complete a thrilling space mission simulation. Take an up-close look at a real plane and visit Kennedy Space Center for an unforgettable field trip

Week 6 (July 7th – July 11th) – Environmental Engineers

Become a green superhero and learn how to improve our planet using science! Explore energy conservation, recycling, and animal habitat conservation through hands-on projects with Fork Farms hydroponics. Design creative solutions to reduce waste and create sustainable alternatives for everyday challenges.

Week 7 (July 14th – July 18th) – Underwater Robotics *Additional $200 fee on this camp*

Dive into the world of robotics and engineering! Build and program underwater robots like SeaPerch Robotics to complete exciting challenges. It’s the perfect way to learn about engineering and technology in a fun, interactive way.

Week 8 (July 21st – July 25th) – The STEM Side of Gaming

Level up your knowledge of the science behind video games! Explore game design, coding, and the technology that powers your favorite games. Create your own prototypes, experiment with game mechanics, and see how STEM brings gaming to life.

Week 9 (July 28th – Aug 1st) – Prototype Academy
